If you think about the context of when it was made and how it was made, it makes today's moviemakers look like kids with crayolas. Fay Wray was such a perfect choice. I loved seeing King Kong in such a perfect condition, too. It was the cleanest version I've ever seen. I loved recalling how I first saw it as a kid and that the scenes are no less entertaining to me now. I am very glad that this is one of Peter Jackson's favorites, too. Then, I re-watched the original to see if I was losing my mind. It does appear that in the new one, scale is correctly applied throughout whereas in the original, it was not so much. And it does appear that the new Kong is shorter than the first Kong, but only in select scenes where Kong is with Ann Darrow, because the first one had its scale askew.
