It's hard to not believe that he's nothing but a 800 year old Jedi Master. Frank Oz was absolutely brilliant in the role. Star Wars started the saga, but Empire solidified it as a cultural phenomenon. Plus some of the most brilliant music ever recorded for the cinema is found in both of these films. Jedi was ok, and the prequels spectacular, but dissapointing. But Star Wars and Empire were the crown jewels of the saga.

John Williams has an incredible body of work and the Star Wars stuff certainly nears the top... BUT, for my money, his music for Shindler's List was the finest by far.

In the first few minutes, when each character made his appearance on the screen, the crowd went crazy -- cheering and applauding and screaming. When Vader uttered the now famous line -- 'Luke, I am your father!' the place went absolutely nuts!

Seemed totally worth it at the time.

There was NO way that could be true!

But I do remember wondering what was going on when Darth's helmet was removed in Return of the Jedi and James Earl Jones was nowhere to be found.
