While I've seen most of them, there are definately a couple that I've never even heard of before (America Pop, Waking Life). I wonder how much of it was decided on by actual quality of the movie, and how much was getting diversity (was Robots really better than some of the ones left off? Not IMO)

I take it from this list that foreign films are not eligible, otherwise I'd have to open a can of whoop-tush. Other flicks that are more deserving IMHO, from a nominating committee who obviously doesn't realize that there were other studios besides Disney before 1987: Gulliver's Travels Mr. Bug Goes to Town Gay Purr-ee Mad Monster Party (hey, if Charlotte's Web is on there...) The Phantom Tollbooth Heavy Traffic Coonskin (but they'd never live it down) Raggedy Ann and Andy The Last Unicorn (perhaps too outsourced?) The Brave Little Toaster Rover Dangerfield anything by the Hubleys anything by Bill Plympton And WHERE IN THE HECK IS LILO AND STITCH? It's clearly superior to at least 2/3 of that list. The rest of FerretAfros's list, I agree are borderline at best. But really, ROBIN HOOD? MADAGASCAR? SOUTH PARK? ROBOTS? Why not go whole hog and honor Return to Neverland, Hoodwinked and Eight Crazy Nights? Sheesh.

THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS 101 DALMATIANS PETER PAN PINOCCHIO THE POLAR EXPRESS - for its uniqueness SHREK SHREK 2 SLEEPING BEAUTY SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS TARZAN TOY STORY TOY STORY 2 The next cut: ALADDIN BAMBI BEAUTY AND THE BEAST CARS CINDERELLA FANTASIA - overrated but certainly an important movie FINDING NEMO HAPPY FEET THE INCREDIBLES THE LION KING THE LITTLE MERMAID MONSTERS, INC. THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS - not my cup of tea, but I have to pay it a certain respect PETER PAN SHREK SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS TARZAN TOY STORY TOY STORY 2 and my top ten: BEAUTY AND THE BEAST CINDERELLA FANTASIA FINDING NEMO THE LION KING THE LITTLE MERMAID THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS PETER PAN SHREK SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS TOY STORY TOY STORY 2 Just my two cents worth. yes, I know that's 12 or so, but I was hoping no one would bother to count.

But it was in spite of the animation, not because of it. >>"The Hobbit" animated movie was a TV movie.<< And still better than some of the titles on the list. Animated in Japan, though. Come to think of it, was any of Charlotte's Web sent out-of-country, or had HB not started that yet?

Actually, I think it's better than a few of the Disney films listed. It's a really unique twist on the formulaic "love at first sight" premise so rampant in animation. TheRedhead, weren't you the one who made fun of "The Producers" a while back? If you were, I may just stop talking to you. What are you gonna go after next? "Casablanca"? "The Godfather?" "Citizen Kane?" (Actually, I probably wouldn't give you a hard time about Citizen Kane.)

But there are plenty of movies that this country loves and reveres that I'll never get - "Shrek" being one of the biggest, and one which will probably be in AFI's top ten. Often I am the cheese, and I stand alone. I actually think that "Corpse Bride" might be my least favorite animated film in the last decade. Sorry. I hated it. It becomes especially annoying to me that it was put ton this list and Lilo and Stitch (my favorite animated film) wasn't.
