However, in the women's shop the more feminine light jackets were not on sale.

For me that takes them from "way too expensive" to "too expensive" ($56 to $33.60), but if you like your theme park merchandise more power to you!! I hope you can take advantage of this rare opportunity. :)

I'd love a nice "Alice" full zippered, fleece squooshy in a size that'll fit a full-figured, mature body. *L*

It's lovely that the twiggyteens get the cute stuff, but the rest of us deserve some, too. :)

I have always thought the prices were too high so I only buy one item, maybe two if I am having a great time, at the parks.

I am turned off by the way they display merchandise, the same items all piled up on the shelves, you see less items in the amount of space. And all the shops have more or less the same merchandise. Before the "Disney Stores" were redone to this configuration (where the parks learned this ugly way to display merchandise), the different areas had different merchandise or at least some of it was different so there was a reason for guests to visit the different store locations. That draw of guests to the stores is gone, "you see one, you've seen them all". Does that make sense?

Price wise, I agree $56 will generally turn me away unless I really like the item with its Disney Brand on it.

However, $33 is pretty much what you would pay outside for a sweatshirt or even a good shirt, without the brand. Of course if you buy at K-Mart or Wall Mart for your primary clothing outlet, I guess you can beat the price, but you get what you pay for. Do research where those clothes are made and the quality that is actually put into them.

Disney merchandise has always been good to very good. I have never had a shirt or sweat shirt fall apart or have buttons pop off as I have with "other" brand merchandise. Ya gotta hand it to Disney, Keeping the quality up keeps us coming back.

ok, Think of it this way, When this merchandise is taken off the shelf, it is DISCOUNTED (bad word, Disney Parks don't know it) and sold from other sites. You just have to find it. One place to look might be Mousesurplus.com but I don't recall where the clothes go. I know Castmembers have first shot at it and if anything is left it goes for resale.

Keep an eye out for those sites.

Last few Disney trips - DLP, DL and WDW in that order, I found very little I wanted to buy myself - the kids yes, but for us adults, not much.

and if you want to see expensive Disney clothes, look out for Donaldson, a designer in Europe. Most of their t-shirts sell for about $150 up. sarah fell in love with a Jacket once, until she saw the price tag $700.

somehow I don't think that would sell well in the US.

I do have to admit that at heart I am a Wal-Mart shopper. My brain tells me that I should pay slightly more for much better quality, but, so far, my heart can't do it very often. Mostly I don't trust the more expensive stuff to truely be of higher quality.

There are other issues too (I have the clothes I need. Also, I'm shrinking, slowly, and so am reluctant to buy quality because I don't think I'll need it.) Mostly though it just comes back to the fact that I don't trust Disney clothing to be worth the price. Sad, I know!

we sometimes buy budget, but I try to be an ethical consumer. The thought of child labour and unfair trade really worries me with the cheaper stuff.

I have tons of Disneyland sweatshirts and jackets - I love them all - they are truely of a nice quality - wash well and hold their shape well.
Some I have gotten on ebay some in the parks and others at the Disney outlets when they are near me.

You do need to watch now though - some of the shirts in the Peices of Eight store and the courtyard next to it are not Disneyland merchandise but licenced merchandise - and while they are nice enough looking - not sure of the brand so I didn't buy them.

I'm kinda shocked to be honest, on sale signs are way too "real world" for me.

I'm not much of a Disney clothing wearer, but in general I've found that quality isn't consistent with price. I've gotten quality, stylish, long-lasting goods in Target, and stuff that looks creepy after 1 wash in Macy's. If Disney can keep the quality consistent, that's definitely a good thing.

    I am a bargain hunter!
I end up spending the same amount but I get more so I feel better!
I don't want to mention how much I spent when I was able to use the 20% off coupon!
I do agree that all the clothing I have bought from Disneyland is really good quality and has held up really well.
However, I still cannot seem to pay thoe outrageous prices so I usually pick up something from the Disney Warehouse where some things are much more reasonably priced.
I have actually only bought clothing at Disnyland for full price once.
It was a Jack Skellington hoodie that my husband actually showed interest in!
It was the first time in the 5 times he had been at Disneyland that he ever showed more than a passing interest in any piece of merchandise.
    Therefore, it was worth it!
He actually wears it all the time and people always admire it and it still looks great!
I, on the other hand, would rather buy a couple of mugs, a photo album and maybe a key chain instead of just one sweatshirt!
I guess I go for quantity because they are probably as overpriced as the clothes!
