Is the DJ playing Dancehall music from Africa, there is some excellent stuff out there lately that is very popular in London right now.

I'm a fan too Dave. Anyone that has never tried African dishes just doesn't know what they are missing out on.

If they had a restaurant like Boma's in the park, and didn't dumb it down. It would make a fortune.

Very decent food selection with great pricing (everything about 3-4 bucks with very good portion sizes- much better than Food n Wine)

the merchandise "part" was ehh but the energy of the cast made up for the blah selection (think inventory of Mombassa moved outside)

    The closing "celebration" was cute
    The information guide was creative

All in all I give it an 8 out of 10

It does look like it's quality ... as to the crowds ... well, late summer afternoons at DAK are wretched ... this seems to me like something that could have worked much better if they had extended DAK's hours three nights a week (why am I giving free consulting?) like Fri-Sun to also bring in locals and ran it from say 6-10 or 7-11 p.m.

That would be my gut too- I figured the proverbial (or not so proverbial) nail was when I looked on the hub for info and all I got was "permanently closed" and since DAK looked more closed than open when I got there about 5- it wasnt till I saw the guides that I even trusted it was happening...
