I'm pretty opened minded when it comes to dinner theater..I have seen most everything out there from drag shows to mystery dinner. But (and of course this is just my opinion) we did not like the way the seating was arranged, or the way that the songs were performed.

We thought it would be a wonderful show if the pirates would stop singing. The songs were hard on the ears and didn't seem to really fit in the "pirate era".

I know you are supposed to go for entertainment but something in the show itself just didn't work for us.

However, the cast was really good when they were only acting.

If you have a REALLY GOOD coupon, its worth going just for the preshow and Hors d'ouvres. (SP?).

As far as MT goes, this is the best show IMO in the Anaheim / Buena Park area. The food is great, the cast most of the time are good looking, and the gift shop is fun. You can walk around and view the horses that are used in the show, and sometimes catch a swordsmith in action. The audience participation is more genuine, and who can resist catching a carnation from your knight in shining armour?

Just a word of advise, dont show the swordsmith that you have any knowladge of swords above the average Joe that saw Braveheart...you will be there talking to him longer than you want to.

I think it is a bit too busy with too much audience participation -- if you went with a large group of people from work or school I think it would be an absolute blast. But I went along with a couple of other friends and we were left feeling flat about it. The people selected to assist with the audience portion really had NO clue what they were doing so it wasn't much fun watching them fumble around. But the performers were quite athletic and fun to watch -and- the appetizers before hand were tasty.

Be sure to check around for coupons. Check the hotel lobby for those magazines with restaurant listings. No one should pay full price for it with the number of coupons floating around.

Medieval Times was good for what it was but it didn't appeal to me at all and I do not plan on ever going back.
