They have a lot of options on whether to wind people through or around pockets of space. When I was waiting, they decided to start winding people around some of the monorail pillars insted of just going around it. As they fed people into the area, we got a false sense of the line moving faster than it really was. Then of course when the area was filled, it came to a stop. So just some advice, don't always judge the line by where it starts.
