Is there any way to use my old DirecTV dish still planted on the roof of my house as an HDTV antenna? I'm not all that bright about this stuff and I figure, "Hey, it's a giant metal thing on my roof - I can point it at the transmitter and get a signal." But so far, no luck. Any reason why this won't work when some old silly rabbit ears did (though with varying signal results)?

We have one old, small TV that we got a Converter Box, and then a HDTV designed pair of Rabbit Ears (Well, now, it is basically a flat plate). We had Rabbit Ears, and only got a few Digital Channels. The new Antenna, which we found needs to be close to the outer wall of our Condo, picks up a lot more channels. Got ours at Walmart. Of course, a Rooftop antenna should get many more channels.
