As far as everything I've read on this board it seems to be one of the quieter weeks during the holiday season; esp. on weekdays. However, it seems even the weekday crowds are a little larger than typical for this time of year due to the 50th celebration- but still overall one of the best times during the hoiday season. DL calendar still has the weekdays that week (Mon-Thurs) on abbreviated days (10am-8pm) so I'm hoping that's a fair indication that they expect fewer crowds. As far as the conference goes, I also tend to plan our trips around conference schedules and my personal rule of thumb is anything below 10,000 in attendence probably wont make a visible marked increase in DL crowds.
