Not to mention these parties leave the day guests with significantly reduced operating hours I know that Ralph and Vanelope are pretty popular right now (I saw several folks dressed as them at this weekend's Wine & Dine Half Marathon), but they just seem a little out of place in the Christmas parade. Maybe if they were with a different unit or something it would fit better

I feel like this year that both parks literally went straight from Halloween into Christmas.

Since Thanksgiving falls relatively late this year and there are 5 weekends in November, I guess they wanted to take advantage of the extra time for the holidays. In WDW, they roll out Christmas at different times for each park, with MK starting the earliest and Epcot waiting until the day after Thanksgiving to kick off Holidays Around the World and the Candlelight. It was fun getting to run through the Osbourne lights this weekend, but I'm not sure I would have thought they were as fun in early November if I was just a regular guest But still, I agree that it's too early for me!

I generally hate Christmas stuff before Thanksgiving (love it after), but I give the parks a pass here, especially WDW. Giving more guests a chance to experience the parks in holiday mode isn't so awful when many (most?) guests don't have the opportunity to get to the resort very option. For some, it may be their one chance.
