I have been looking at the places that offer suites directly across from the park and I came across Embassy Suites South.
I know that it is not exactly close and we would have to take the ART but it looks so nice and the free hot breakfast sounds so good.
So if anyone has stayed at Embassy Suites I would love to hear about your stay including rooms, breakfast, experience with ART, fastest route walking time to Disneyland etc.
As I have never visited this part of town, I am especially interested as to what stores, restaurants etc. are within about 5 minutes walking distance.
Thanks in advance for all your help.

The hotel is right on Harbor, so if you walked you would turn left onto the sidewalk and just keep going. It's over a mile, though, so I wouldn't do it!

The ART bus is exclusive to Embassy Suites. It picks up in front of the hotel entrance.

Restaurants: Bucca di Beppo is in the hotel parking lot; turn right onto the sidewalk and there is an Outback and Joe's Crab Shack on the next corner (1 block, if that) Directly across the street is a Del Taco and Jack in the Box.

As SuzieQ said, there's several restaurants right there ANNNND a Starbucks which was a huge bonus for me! :)

the rooms are nice & big too (we have 4 kids, normal size hotel rooms just don't cut it).

make reservations early though cause they are big on the conventions & if they are having a big one they fill up fast.

    have fun!)

BTW, the 2-doubles room was $139 during our stay. We had 2 King and one Double/Double room for our group.

    Hmmmm.....
