When it re-opens, it's going to be a lot different: - The Opening Unit Float will Be Replaced with a completely new float. Since the plan is to eventually ship this Parade to Florida, the opening float must be replaced since the Magic Kingdom's Train Station does not match the current Opening float, which was modeled after Disneyland's Train Station. - The show stop music will be completely changed along with the choreography. - Tinkerbell will be relocated to the castle balcony on the finale float where Mickey & Minnie currently stand, And the mice will be moved down to either the lower part of the float, or onto the ground. - A new "Celebrate Today" cavalcade will be performed in the park. These changes are to coinside with the new "Celebrate Today" Promotion which Disney Parks are doing for next year. Since this Parade was originally Designed and themed to Disneyland's 50th Aniversary, the changes are being made so the parade will be more relevant to the new iniesitive &2 pre-package the Parade and get it ready for it's eventual move to Florida. Does anyone else know anything about this.

I'm not saying that the rumors of POD are not true, but it does sound kind of strange that they were told some random day. Also, what sense does it make to change the parade to fit Florida before it leaves Anaheim? And why would Mickey and Minnie move to the lower part of the float, or even stranger, the ground? They are the "stars" of the parade and it just makes no sense to me. Anyways, once again, I'm not saying your information is wrong, it just seems strange to me. I look forward to hearing what others have to say. Maybe someone out there has more information than I do.

The plan right now is to let it play out through christmas, then retire it forever, after christmas they were supposed to debut a new parade called world of wonder, but that has been pushed back to 2010, due to the complexity of the floats ( there being built by the same people who made pixar play parade and have lots of moving parts) so for 2009, it's either going to be no parade or just same old POD as it is today!! btw the world of wonder is supposed to be really cool, and will feature one float for each land at disneyland I.E the adventureland float will have a rolling boulder. granted this is just what i've hered on websites and should not be thought of as official.

Well have to wait and see what other changes come. Nobody believed me when I first announced these changes but I was right!

I was shocked, does anybody know why this is? especially when all other princesses were in their exact usual outfits?

Originally Posted By FerretAfros Interesting that the princesses don't wear their usual outfits (especially Ariel who now only appears in her wedding dress for meet & greets), since I noticed last week that Tinkerbell's outfit was changed to look like the one that she wears in her meet & greet. It's the same general idea, but her dress is patterned to look like it's made out of giant leaves (well, pretty small leaves if you consider her in scale). It seemed kind of strange, since she was there with Peter, but at the same time, she was there with the other faries, so it kind of worked. I wonder if the other new faries (Silvermist, Fawn, Rosetta, and Iridessa) will show up at the beginning of the parade in the spring. If they do, I really hope they are an addition, and not a replacement of the amazingly timeless older faries (Flora, Fauna, Merryweather, Blue Fairy, Fairy Godmother). I really like the three fairies from Sleeping Beauty, but all of their costumes are amazing (even if the Blue Fairy always looks like a guy in drag...leave off the eye liner a little and it would do wonders!).

I think Tinkerbell's new dress ties in well with her new move and all the Pixie Hollow stuff.. I guess it's hard to figure out when she would wear which.. can't wait to see photos of it. And I, like FerretAfros, hope her newe fairy friends don't replace the older fairies.. I love seeing them

I think the thought with that is it's supposed to look like her dress is changing colors from pink AND blue like at the end of the movie when the fairies keep changing it? If you watch her swirl and twirl sometimes it looks more blue sometimes more pink and sometimes a little mixture of both... At least, that's how I took it. Thinking of it that way I thought it was cool... But, if that's not the reason... then I don't get it.

And now many Parade Cast Members who don't do other shows for Disney are now jobless. Looks like budget cuts and disney's penny pinching mentality strike again. Way to go Disney. Why don't we just return to the Cynthia Harris and Paul Pressler era again.
