Disneyland in January

    Cold is a relative term. It all depends on where you are from. I live in the Pacific Northwest and when I go in January I bring a fleece and am fine. Granted if you do get wet you will get chilly but you can alleviate that by bringing dry clothes and putting them in a locker.

    As far as being upgraded, I think your chances depend on how many view rooms are booked (ie, reserved at the higher price) and the time of your check-in. If they have view rooms available when you check in, they may upgrade you if you ask nicely. I don't know that they would upgrade if you don't ask.
