I should have done it when booking a table at Wine Country Trattoria at DCA. They lost my reservation and without even an apology, said "you'll have to wait 45 minutes for a table". I asked (not aggressively) if they could tell me what the point of waiting on hold for 10 minutes to book a table was and they seated us straight away. Frankly, it was a little odd!

This was the location of my first date with my wife 20 years ago. We went to a formal dance afterwards and were almost not let in the park because our tuxes and gowns were considered 'costumes'. I'm glad they sat you right away after that. If they didn't I was gonna say, you should have told them you were calling from very long distance and that 10 minutes from Australia to California is not cheap Unless you called from your hotel room.
