Finding restaurants not on property is easy, but to find specific ones, like listed, requires some local knowledge of the area. Most visitors do not have that knowledge.

It is almost impossible to know which attractions are worthy of "skipping" if you have never been before. Everyone has a different level of enjoyment. There is no set formula for determining ahead of time what one might or might not enjoy. If this isn't the first visit...I suspect that one has already chosen what to see again and what to pass by.

It is not an altogether bad theoretical grouping of ideas but certainly is anything but cut and dried.

Yeah, there are plenty of nice restaurants around Orlando. But there are plenty of nice restaurants around Dallas, too. And there are so many excellent eating spots within WDW that I only get to take advantage of once or twice a year that it's no problem dining on property. Also, staying on property, even if it's not the greatest dollar value, still has more than enough advantages to make it worthwhile for me.

I also would like to remind TDLFAN again that not all of us have access to free rides to Japan via the airlines. Perhaps, he could send some cash our way so we could partake of the heaven that is the Tokyo Resort. Baring that, I'm afraid we must suffer through WDW. We'll just call it our little hell on earth.

California, the state. As in the state in which Disneyland Resort is located.

It did make a special note that, although a great place to spend the afternoon/evening and includes nightly fireworks, perhaps WDW isn't the best place for the morning after hangover. Having done it, all I have to say is that Kilimanjaro Safaris is way bumpier in person that you ever remember it being (and also smells way more like animals than you might want).

(And for those wondering, the other locations in the US were New York City and Portland)
