It seems to be a tough place to take pictures of, since it is so large, and you are so close to it. I guess the lighting doesn't really help with that any either. http://www.mouseplanet.com/david/pirates1.jpg

If you do not have it, do get Jason Surrell's book "Pirates of the Caribbean: From the Magic Kingdom to the Movies." It is filled with a wealth of photos, as well as original art created for the attractions and first film. (There is a good photo of the treasure room on pages 84-85, for example.)

I have a thread over on avsforum that goes more in detail of what I am doing around the theater. Please share your brain Mickey Dude, there are 6 arches total. I have picked out 5 of the six. I have picked two from the movie (skull and cross bones, battle between the interceptor and black peral) and 3 so far from the ride (the helmsman, pirates in jail trying to get the key from the dog, and the treasure room which I need some good pic from) so I still have one arch free. Davey would be cool.

Otherwise, you might need to find a video and let the artist try to put things together from what he sees. B) If you get a chance, please post a link to your thread on AVSforum. Thanks.
Originally Posted By DlandDug Have you considered filling two arches with the treasure room scene? In the actual attraction there is a rock column that sort of divides the view in half. The first arch could hold the classic mound of gold with the skeleton pirate on top, and the other could feature the chest with the Aztec gold from Curse of the Black Pearl. (That chest is now in the Disneyland original.) To add dimension, you may want to consider adding props along the edges of the arched areas. Small chests, barrels, or heaps of gold coins would look good. Fix them together to appear loosely scattered in the room. This was done at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood when they played Pirates I and II. There should be photos on line. (I know we had some here on this site!) If you have empty wall space in the room, you should consider vignettes of famous pirates, like those that decorate the walls in the queue area. recently added were Capt. Jack Sparrow and Barbossa. And directly over the top of the screen you should have the skull that appears above the tunnel for the first drop. It doesn't have to talk, but it would certainly be a fine piece of decor.

I need help from the brilliant minds here. Most people wonder why I am doing all of this. Only here can I find people that understand why Wow DlandDug how our mind think alike! "And directly over the top of the screen you should have the skull that appears above the tunnel for the first drop. It doesn't have to talk, but it would certainly be a fine piece of decor." We bought one just for the reason. It will go right above the screen. Here are some pics of it: http://www.featuredalbums.com/ images/94/134/00000023.JPG http://www.featuredalbums.com/ images/94/134/00000024.JPG When we first planed on the arches, we were going to have just one scene on each side that would stretch throughout the three arches. But after talking with the artist, he was excited about the project and thought it would be good for different scenes in each arch. So we went that direction and love it. Please keep any thoughts and ideas coming!!!!
