Does any one know that if one person is dining at a character meal, can anouther come in and join them but not eat?

Just wondering what spots and which characters have official photographers with them for photos to purchase?

Any new characters in the parks?

I am thinking of staying at this hotel but as i will be one person, I need to find a cheaper place for a friday ngiht as the rate goes up a fair bit. Is there anything close that is easy to get to with a few peices of luggage.

Can some please list the character meals for me? Where, which characters, type of food, roughly the price and times etc.

I am not going until mid Feb but was wondering if deals come up with the hotels closer to the time? All Disney hotels seem expensive for low season. Can anyone recommend a cheap hotel near Disney or easily accessable on train line with not much walking?

Do the characters come out in hotel lobby etc?

Also, I was told that they have facilities in the park for disabled people if they need to rest?

    Many thanks for your help

Character meals are a set price within Tokyo Disneyland so as long as the person pays they don't have to eat. Be bewared for disappointment though as both venues at the park are EXTREMELY popular and sell out in advance now. I think you would struggle to convince the waiting staff at Chef Mickey's (at the Ambassador) not to charge though.

<<Just wondering what spots and which characters have official photographers with them for photos to purchase?>>

Typically the only official photographers can be found in Central Plaza if there is a photo spot (like during Halloween) or in Toontown. They are not as common inside the parks as in the US (as they are TDR employees rather than Kodak folks).

<<Any new characters in the parks?>>

Duffy the Bear (the US call him the Disney Bear) is VERY popular in Tokyo DisneySea in the Cape Cod area. You may see more unusual characters in TDS like Bernard and Bianca (American Waterfront), Hercules and Megara (the ruins in Med Harbor) and Pocahontas but there aren't any other new characters. TDR will rarely introduce new characters with a new movie - only if there is a need and place for them in a parade or show.

<<All Disney hotels seem expensive for low season>>

It is VERY rare for any discounting on Disney hotels - even CMs have to pay full price.

The character shows inside the park are:

    <a href="http://www.tokyodisneyresort.co.jp/tdl/english/7land/western/rest_slue.html" target="_blank">http://www.tokyodisneyresort.c...lue.html</a>

<<Do the characters come out in hotel lobby etc?>>

Not very often but sometimes they do.

I'd post your hotel suggestion here if you like - someone is bound to know about it!

    Cheers,

    Lee

The Disney hotels seem to consistently be 2.5x the price of the Hilton and Sheraton, which are Official hotels that are on-site and on the monorail loop. And, at least from an outsider's point of view looking in, they don't appear to have occupancy problems even at those prices.

    Indeed.

    It can be very frustrating.

But I am sure some entrepenurial gaigin living within spitting distance of the Partners statue might make some serious yen if he set up some kind of "intermediary booking service" for desperate out of town non-Nipponese speaking potential guests.

Some of us have offered to help like that in the past (even for free). However, many of them have flaked or changed their plans. -- MagicalNezumi
