Are there hospitals or other charities that anyone knows of who could make use of them?

    Any other ideas?

Another off the wall idea is if you know of any resident summer camps who might take them to entertain younger campers on rainy days.

I donate mine to the public library pretty regularly. But I also think Battered Women's shelters, homeless shelters, etc. are good. If your city has a abused children's center (where they interview victims, do medical exams, etc.), that would be a good thing. They are chronically underfunded, and rarely have extras like that. Plus, most people not in the business and lucky enough to have avoided things like that in their personal lives rarely know they exist, so they're not usually on the top of most people's charity lists. If this is how you wanted to go, I'd contact your County Victim Witness Office through the County DA's office to ask about this...

Another possibility would be if your local public radio station, your library or other non-profs has an annual CD/DVD, etc. sale fundraiser.
