Expedia will heavily discount last minute deals if they have unsold rooms. And they often run "buy 3, get one free" specials. I booked one of those promotions last spring for our November trip at the Grand, and it worked out to be about $200 a night, which is pretty good for the Grand.

I originally booked out hotel on Orbitz and was waiting and checking everyday if DGC would lower the rate as it gets close. Sure enough, one week to go and it drops. I would suggest checking the outer hotels and booking something first, then as the date gets nearer , check again and maybe you will luck out. If you stay mid week on a non holiday time you should be ok. Good luck.

Then when I check on the Disney website the total came out to 418.00. I ended up calling Disney reservations to see if by chance I could get any further discounts with either my Disney Visa or AAA. She said the best she could do is the matching website rate so I grabed it. It's just for the two nights but at least we'll get a taste of the Grand for the first time.
