This is a great video montage! I have never seen some of the clips used in this video version of Your Song.

This one's for you, Laughing Place. How wonderful life is while you're in the world!

You are welcome! I'm so glad you both enjoyed it.

    * sings * When are you gonna come down
When are you going to land
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man

You know you can't hold me forever
I didn't sign up with you
I'm not a present for your friends to open
This boy's too young to be singing the blues

    So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can't plant me in your penthouse
I'm going back to my plough

Back to the howling old owl in the woods
    Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I've finally decided my future lies
    Beyond the yellow brick road

What do you think you'll do then
I bet that'll shoot down your plane
It'll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again

    Maybe you'll get a replacement
There's plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain't got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground
    * repeat chorus*

I love the Donald Duck outfit... Reminded me of the squeaky-billed Donald cap my little brother got at Disneyland when we were children. He was so cute... I miss him.

Dave, I need details, man! How cool!

After watching "Tantrums and Tiaras", I was a bit surprised at all the bad behavior he gets away with and how badly he does treat people at times. As most fans do, I had this image of EJ in my mind. . .You know, the whole "feet of clay" cliche comes to mind. I prefer my version of Elton.

DVC_dad, my husband has a good friend that lives in Atlanta and I am always asking about any EJ sightings, LOL. EJ in concert is an experience, isn't it?

I was 18 years old and thrilled that I would finally see my idol in person. I was with my now husband at the concert and we were waiting for the show to begin, when someone walked out in an all white pajama-like suit and everyone went crazy. I asked, "Who is *that*"? I mean, it was a short bald guy, with no glasses, it *couldn't* be Elton! I mean, where were the feathers, the sequins, the GLASSES that light up?!

That little man, sat down at an electric piano and started to sing, I can't remember the song, but I stood up and yelled, "It's Elton!", LOL!

The show was over too soon and I did not want to go home. The next day, I went to a ticket agency and bought two more tickets a lot closer and in the middle of the theatre, so I could see him again. I made to the stage during the encore by deftly dodging security and was able to get some pictures of EJ close up. One of my best memories, ever!

I have since been able to get his autograph, shake his hand and rock out with him at the foot of the stage during the last half of a concert in Fresno 3 or 4 years ago. He mugged for the camera on that occasion and that photo is one of my most prized possesions.

Now, that I've written a short story, I'm so glad that you all have enjoyed "Your Song". I did post it as it reflects my feelings for Laughing Place and the people in it!

We went for 10 mins, and when my dad saw some of the "refreshments" on offer and the drag queens, he made us leave. I was so bummed out. There were some interesting celebs there.
