When we checked in we were told that we were upgraded to a suite and we hadn't even asked. Turned out the suite was on the top floor of the Wonder tower, my favorite, with an incredible view! We were thrilled. It was the last day on the pass and we don't know when we'll be able to be back.

It is probably not a common occurrence for folks to turn down an upgrade :)

Getting an upgrade is always such a nice surprise, and getting bumped to a suite is AWESOME!

Just like officerminnie, I considered turning it down because I had always wanted to try the DTD view, but the upgrade was to get us bunkbeds which the kids wanted. And I have to say, our park view room was really nice. But now it gives me another excuse to stay at the GCH again so I can try a DTD view room!

Here is what happened: May 2005 was my 40th birthday, so I talked my husband into getting a suite at the DLH with concierge. It was a big splurge. I spoke to someone at Vacation Planning and requested that I have a suite in the Sierra Tower (now Dreams tower) since I wanted to be close to the lounge. He said it is usually never guaranteed and only a request, but since it was my big 4-0 he talked to the manager and had them mark my room request as "do not change".

But three weeks later there were AP rates at the PPH so we went again. I got a park view room for $139 for mid June, so that was a pretty good deal. When I checked in they didn't mention anything about an upgrade, but when I opened the door it was a suite. And it was a suite on the top floor, just like 3 weeks before at the DLH was on the top floor. (Only that one cost BIG BUCKS!)

So I think my name was still in the computer as "top floor suite, park view, do not change" or something like that.

I remember when I was checking in at the PPH, it was too early to get the room, and I know they can't tell you what your room number is, but I asked what floor I was in. He looked at me like "DUH!" and said the 15th in the same "DUH" tone. At the time I thought that was kind of weird, but later I realized that he must have thought I was demanding the top floor, when I really had no idea.

So I think I was accidentally upgraded on that trip!
