Does anyone have any links to construction updates with details on what will be in the new land? Thanks!

It's themed off of old NYC "Trolly Parks", which were small amusement parks built at the end of trolley lines that were operated by the trolley company and open on weekends as a way to boost trolley ridership during non-workdays. So that's how the whole thing fits into the New York Waterfront area of the park.

    1. OLC hasn't bought into the whole "social networking" thing that Disney has: I don't think they have an official blog, they don't post videos on YouTube, they don't have the equivalent of Blue Sky Cellar, etc. Part of this goes back to the thinking that Disney in the US used to have: you don't want to talk too much about the future, because you don't want people to think "Oh, I'll just wait to go until <insert new thing> is open."

    2. I think they're able to hold CMs to a much higher standard of conduct. So, there tend to be fewer things like photographs leaked by people that had construction-site access.

Also, to the extent that there are fan sites that cover this sort of thing, they're all going to be in Japanese, and not show up in searches that we do in English. Aside from what's talked about here (which has been much less recently) and on MiceChat, I don't think there's much in the way of fan discussions in English. I'm not aware of any Japan-based message board about TDR that's in English, for example.

You'd think with Toyville coming in just a few weeks there'd be more online buzz about it. Oh well.

It's @dreamsweetslove and you should also check deepdisney for updates too.

Here's a link to a discussion about Grizzly Peak at HKDL that illustrates what I'm talking about:

    http://mb.laughingplace.com/Ms...-P-1.asp

There are literally dozens of Cars Land updates online. Here's an example:

    http://www.disneygeek.com/upda...12_05_25

Thanks for the press release. So it looks like the new area won't feature any new food service locations? That seems odd.

I've often heard fan ideas of using a hall or mirrors or funhouse theme for a queue of an attraction in Paradise Pier, so it will be interesting to see what Disney does with the concept!

The lack of posts in this "Tokyo Resort" forum is another good indicator of the lack of interest in TDR by westerners.

Right, but it's still surprising that the notorious Japanese fans haven't been following this project closely. Different mindset I guess.

Thanks for posting the blog link. Through that portal I found this:

Maybe there isn't that much interest, because it's just a copy of an existing ride. Of course the setting looks amazing, except Woody'S face, but that ride has been built twice. HKDL, DCA and MK are getting new attractions or new variations of existing rides. The Little Mermaid at MK is an exception.
