Originally Posted By rtjl72 we have a really fun tradition on halloween here. this is what we do in ioqwa- when the kids come to the door they have to tell a joke or say a riddle to get candy. if too small then they have to do a trick-a somersault or just jumping. it's really fun! try it in your area and just say you are from iowa. the better the joke or trick and the more goodies you get in the bag. when the really old kids come to the door and i figure it is their last halloween to trick or treat i tell them to come back at the end of the night for a special treat. i then give them all the candy i have left. they love it and i sure don't need those goodies hanging around.
