His biggest love in life is Disneyland (if fact I think he loves DL more than me). DL doesn’t really fit into our budget but I know it will kill him to be so close and not go. In all fairness we have been “living lean†for four years now and we only have our student loans and can afford to splurge some. I would suggest just going to DTD for a cheap Disney fix and calling it good but I know that won’t fly with him. If fact he might have a heart attack to be so close and not be able to go inside. Now before you all jump all over me for being “an unpatriotic Disney party pooper†I have some concerns. Seeing as Laughing Place has never let me down before I thought I would see if anyone had any suggestions for me.
Beside $$ issue I’ll be 5 1/2 months pregnant and the idea of being in DL pregnant doesn’t sound that great. I love IASW but I’d go nuts if I heard that song all day. My favorite rides are TOT, Soaring, Screaming, Indy, Space Mountain and Pirates. I think it would be worse for me to be there and not be able to ride any of those. What do I really have to avoid and what can I get away with riding? I haven’t “popped†yet and assume I will not get very big in the next month.
Also I’m spoiled and only like going to DL when it’s not crowded. How are the crowds really during Memorial Day weekend? If we went either Thursday, Friday and Tuesday after would we avoid most of the crowds? Which day would be the best?
What extra surprises should I plan for him either in DL or anywhere in the LA area? He went to DL so many times growing up that I think he has done it all. The only thing I know he would give his right arm to do is Club 33 but since I’m not a millionaire, famous or “in the know†with the right people that will not be an option.
His best friend will be in school all day the Thursday, Friday and following Tuesday we are there so we will be pretty much on our own.
    Any suggestions would be great.
    Thanks

I was at Disneyland on Memorial Day weekend two years ago (for my birthday) and the weekend crowds were like regular summer crowds, not the most crowded I've seen the parks like during spring break (I've never been during Christmas vacation). But Memorial Day itself was the most uncrowded day of the weekend; its afternoon/evening was like off season.

I went 3 times when I was pregnant with my youngest (now 2). Once when I didn't know I was but found out while I was there (now that is a story to tell her later), then when I was 3 months & again when I was almost 6. (Must be why Mia is the biggest Disney fan of us all.) None were real busy times & weather was good so that help. But I stayed off all rides that were really bumpy or had big drops (Pirates is ok). The way I gaged it was, if I could take my newborn in a front pack on it I could go on in pregnant (there is a thread around here somewhere about what you can take a baby on) Look at it as the last trip you guys will have just the 2 of you. The next time you go (probably) it will be a whole new world:eek:p. I have always loved DLR & went tons of times before I had kids but there is nothing better than seeing it with your child.

    Have fun!

As stated above, stick to the no-thrill rides. Its only for a few more months, why take the chance? There are still PLENTY of fun things to do in Disneyland!

If you want to splurge, why not do Fantasmic? It is less expensive than Club 33 (if you find a way in) and I'm sure you both would love the show & desserts!

I have 5 kids and have been to DL pg as many times, but this was the furthest along I had been. I stayed off of rides like TMR, Star Tours, and my FAVORITE, Indy b/c they are IMHO way too jerky for a pg lady. I did ride Splash like once b/c even the drop IMO is pretty smooth if you actually hold on, LOL. As long as your pg is not considered "high risk", you still have all the FL rides to go on, Jungle Cruise, POTC, HM, Autopia, Buzz....actually lots to do! I think Sourin' is even okay b/c it's so smooth. That trip (when I was 5 1/2 mos pg) was about 4 days and I didn't feel deprived at all - of course I already don't ride Space, Screamin' and TOT [insert chicken icon here;) so there ya go, LOL. I think you can still have alot of fun just being there with your DH :)
