It was hot! Much hotter than the weathermen predicted (what's new). My oldest sone and I rode Screamin' for the first time and it was great! I love that ride. I am a big guy (56 inch chest, 46 inch waist, 6'2" and I fit fine). Last time I rode Mulholland Madness I barely fit and my son and I had to ride separately because of the single lap bar. It was all I could to to get in the car and close the lap bar to make the CM happy. This time the cars had separate lap bars for each rider and they worked better. No problems. Good job DLR! CA was pretty busy but mot like DL. DL was bad on Monday and Tuesday, better on Wednesday and Thursday then bad again and Friday. Getting there early was important to get a lot of rides in before the crowds and heat got really bad. We still ended up in CA most evenings to avoid the DL shows, fireworks and crowds. We hardly waited for over 30 minutes for any ride. Mind you we wouldn't go on Indy or Space Mountain if the board said it was a long wait, but nothing was really queuing up much, even Indy and SM never had a queue over 60 minutes and most of the time they were under 50. Could that be the Nemo effect? Most of the CMs were helpful and courteous. Some were kind of tired and weary, but not rude and would talk if engaged. We saw one Churro cart CM get angry because his helper was over at the popcorn cart talking with a friend. he muttered a few things under his breath, then went over in the middle of filling ut order and banged on the drink cooler at the popcorn stand to get her attention. I thought that was pretty bad, but the walked back smiling, so maybe it wasn't as bad as it looked. Other times we saw CM's talking amongst themselves and barely acknowledging guests. It wasn't always that way, but it seems to be getting worse every year. Nemo was fun and we want to do it again. Our feet just couldn't handle the 90 minute wait. I have a more complete impression Nemo here: http://mb.laughingplace.com/Ms gBoard-T-87882-P-3.asp Pirate's lair was fun, if not entirely different than the old Tom Sawyer's Island. A lot more detail, yes, but not to different. The show was fun and we met Cap'n Jack. Nice overlay. We tried Jedi Training Academy. Our sons broght light sabers and tried hard to get picked, but they seemed to lean toward younger kids (ours are 11 and 9). A past htread suggested bringing light sabers, wearing robes or making signs and that the earlier shows weren't to crowded. Not anymore. There must have been 100 kids trying to get picked. The secret is out. We will try again in October. The park looked great and I am amazed at how they can get it looking so good every morning after each days abuse. Too many people are inconsiderate and take the park for granted. As usual a few bad apples can have a big affect on the rest of us. We usually just ignore and have fun. We can't wait to go in October when the crowds should be much less, the weather is cooler.
