I understand Snow White will end its run before we arrive. Does anyone know what will replace Snow White, and whether there will be a show in the Fantasyland Theatre by mid-November?

I think its a cute idea for now. I wasnt a fan on the Snow show though...

I hope something good goes in for your kids to enjoy! I'm also curious as to what they will replace Snow with. Have a great time!

The problem is ..... the Fantasyland Theater is DL's only venue for stage shows.

Tomorrowland use to have one .. but as soon as Captain EO was added in 1986 .. that was the end of that facility.

Now over at DCA ... had they built the Hyperion Theater in a way so that there was a seperate path unattached to the park 'proper' ....... Hyperion could have been the Disneyland Resort's primary stage facility for DCA OR DL patrons for the day.

Unlike most theaters and performance spaces, this is an easy informal location to sit down in the shade, it's conducive to kids, strollers, and people coming and going as they please. Fantasyland is always one of the most congested areas of the park, and the FL theater can easily absorb thousands - and it's "right there" where the crowds are.

How many people are they really hoping to pull in for what's basically a marketing and merchandise location? For one thing, it sounds expensive and time-consuming. By the time your kid has wended her way through the various steps, upwards of two hours and perhaps a hundred dollars has been chewed through. And the rest of the family who aren't princess material? Tough - there's just nothing for them to do except wait around to admire the little darling in her new polyester pink outfit.

Not to mention that there's no show.

Snow white might not have been the greatest show, but it least it was something that provided some value to the day's ticket. This plan is useless to anyone not travelling with a little girl between the ages of about three and eight.

Just an awful idea. And a waste of all that space.

Convert one ofthe Fantasyland shops. Don't slap this garbage in a space that is meant for large stage shows, or better yet a new attraction.
This really just seems like a step backwards. Maybe Matt could see the hand writing on the wall.

oc_dean...the current Fantasyland Theatre was basically the replacement for the closed Space Stage, that "Captain Eo" replaced.

Now, that really wasn't a tacky scam to take people's money, but it too was supposed to be temporary.

Maybe they could set up some temporary cooking classes in the theater as well....

Enter the idea to use it as a live theater--much of the infrastructure was already there, including the roasting hot afternoon sun.

So the heinously unattractive bra-topper was later added.

Space Stage removal corresponded in time, but one wasn't given up for the other.

And, the Fantasyland Theatre does not allow strollers (someone suggested it was a good place to eat up crowds). Also, the Theatre doesn't seem to have any direct bearing on the crowding in Fantasyland proper--it is simply too far away.

Just my thoughts . . . and, Snow White, A Boring Musical, may you rot! What a turkey of a show!

OK, now that I've typed just that much, it sounds a bit silly.

Snow White, An Excruciating Musical, on the other hand, did none of those things. It was so bad, Snow White's Scary Adventures should be closed for about a year, just because of the bad vibes the show has left behind. And she should sit out Fantasmic! for a while, to boot.

I am hopeful that that is a sign that they might want to build an attraction back there when they are done with this isipid sales promotion. With the Hyperion at DCA, I really think the area would be put to better use as an area for a large E-ticket. Maybe this promotion is simply filler until they are ready to move forward with something much better. I can't imagine them wanting to support two full scale productions any longer (Fantasyland Theater & Hyperion)

Then, while they're at it, they can (finally) gut the HISTA theatre, open the entire structure back up to the way it was originally, and give us back the Tomorrowland Theatre for live shows and night time bands!!!

    It's a win-win for all of us!
