He checked it out, said it's a decent watch -- he added some lubricant, to see if maybe the works were hung up, maybe get it rolling. Still doesn't keep time. Went back to the repair guy -- said it's going to be $45 just to open it up and look at it. Unfortunately, I don't have the original receipt from Disneyland. What do you guys suggest? Am I SOL?

To me, the watch should at least be on par with a Fossil watch -- which run in the $75-$80 range and last 4-5 years. I'm not close to Disneyland, so going to the shop and demanding a refund is not going to happen.

Sadly, unless it's north of $300, seems Disney does not do quality anymore, and even then, it is questionable. It seems like Disney went to being a hallmark of quality to being almost on par with Krusty the Clown merchandise commensurate with Eisner's final years and worse in the Iger era. Knock on wood, my hand painted Disney watch is still in good condition (nearly 3 years old), although I had vouchers and it was 60% off, the original ticket price was $500. Even then I was worried. The 3 $60 - $100 watches we bought all died within a year. Aweful really (and don't get me started on Disney toys or clothes).

Honestly I don't think I would. Like others have said we live in times of many poor quality products. I do not want to just accept poor quality, but it is difficult to insist on the best quality when the biggest factor is usually cost. I have a Skagen with Micky on the face that has been working perfectly for several years now.
