Yesterday morning I went to run an errand for just about 15 minutes, when I came back our dog Maggie had been sick. There was yuckiness all over our living room carpet. Without the air going, the smell is still lingering. Worst of all, yesterday I looked down and realized that the diamond came off of my wedding ring! Completely gone. It wasn't big or very valuable financially but the sentimental value is, of course, huge. This is not how I envisioned spending the long weekend!

So instead of what I had planned for Friday, DH had to get and install a new motor. Good luck to you and yours. I hope Maggie is okay.

I was devastated as I am sure you are for the same sentimental reasons but I wore it anyway, I just could not part with it. On our 10 year anniversary, my husband surprised me with a brand new set that I love.

I checked every single place I could recall being since the last time I'd seen it still in place. I even called the pizza parlor where I'd had lunch to please be on the lookout for it. I put a nylon over the hose end of our vacuum cleaner and went over the carpet with that but had no luck. I swept every square inch of the kitchen and dining area and dug through every particle in that dustpan. Lo and behold I found it...right there in amongst all that dust! Upside down it didn't even look like anything much. But turned over it was the most beautiful sight in the world to me! I wish you all the luck in finding yours!

Hopefully we'll be back home in a few hours! I got my ring fixed yesterday. My mom reminded me that I had a pair of diamond earrings that belonged to the great grandmother that I was named after. My ears are too sensitive for earrings anymore so we used one of them to fix my ring. It looks beautiful! The diamond is slightly bigger than my old one but the new setting looks almost identical. I'm very pleased with it!
