    Downtown Disney:

Tortilla Jo's -- terrific, and interesting Mexican food. Served hot and fresh, with really good service.

    Disneyland Hotel:

Hook's Pointe -- it's been consistently good for us over the years. Wonderful setting, attentive staff, nice wine list too.

    Disney's California Adventure:

A moderate thumbs up to 'Wine Country Trattoria. Frankly it's been hit and miss over the years -- with food and service.

You need to get away from the resort area to save some money...

Hometown Buffet is located about one mile west on Katella, in the same shopping center as the Food4Less. There is a great Philly Cheesesteak and Fish and Chips store across the street (Cross street is Euclid).

The local bus (OCTA route 50) runs down Katella about every 1/2 hour for $1.25 one way.

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen (Great food and the balcony seating over DTD is just the best!)

Uva Bar (Great drinks, great people watching, great appetizers or light meals prepared in Catal's kitchen. This is our favorite stop almost every night during every trip.)

We also enjoy the French Market, Rancho Del Zocalo and River Belle Terrace (another good breakfast stop.)

DCA (Grand Californian) - We only eat at White Water Snacks if over in that area. We used to like to go to Ariel's Groto, but don't go anymore since they switched it to the Princesses. My 13 year old prefers characters vs. Princesses.

DL - Breakfast..always the Riverbelle, each day. Love the atmosphere over in NOS in the morning. Very peaceful.

Lunch/Dinner (combined meal) - Pizza Port (hubby is BIG on pasta), French Market (love my stew bowls & salads), Plaza Inn (we can all split a meal they are so huge and get individual house salads)

Other than that, we liked to go to Blue Bayou for dessert at least once. I love their chocolate mousse. Does anyone know if it is still available since they changed the menu????

    Breakfasts:
    -----------
    1. Storyteller's Buffet (GCH). Actually even off the menu is excellent. Unless we are with a big bunch of kids, we go here. I prefere it over Goofy's. Food is excellent. Asparagus and chiliquiles. Good stuff.

    2. Carnation Cafe (DL). Quality breakfast and wonderful atmosphere. Brings back all my childhood memories of eating with my parents and sister.

    3. RiverBelle (DL). Food is standard stuff but you can't beat the view of the Rivers of American and New Orleans Square.

    4. Ralph Brennen's Jazz Kitchen (DTD). Either the beignets to the english muffin sandwich.

    Lunch:
    ------
    1. Carnation Cafe (DL). Potato soup and steak melt sandwich are both wonderful.

    2. White Water Snacks (GCH). Best deal in the Resort and nice place to chill out with some peace and quite.

    3. Bengal BBQ (DL). Skewers to die for. Asparagus wrapped in bacon and either of the beef. Mmmm, mmm good!

    Dinners:
    --------
    1. Plaza Inn (DL). Love the pasta or pot roast.

    2. Cafe Orleans (DL). I wouldn't eat with kids, I think it's a bit overpriced but I think the food is a step up from average.

    3. Pacific Wharf (DCA)> Bread bowls! Only place I can seem to get clam chowder that is HOT.

    4. Tortilla Jo's (DTD). Best fun, not your normal Mexican homestyle cooking but tasty nevertheless.

    5. Ralph Brennen's Jazz Kitchen (DTD). I think the food is delicious.

    6. Catal's (DTD). Sometimes the service can be SLOW up excellent upscale dining.

Places to hang out and get some munchies:
    -------------------------------
    1. Hearthstone Lounge (GCH). Couple secrets - go to White Water Snacks or Naples Pizza get some grub. Take to Hearthstone, order drinks and soak in the atmosphere. ;>

    2. Uva Bar (DTD). Right smack in the middle of the action for people watching. Good drinks and appetizers from Catal.

    3. ESPN Bar (DTD). Great place to catch up on sports scores while having a cold beverage. ;>

I think the price was about $13 or $14. It tasted absolutely wonderful and since there was so much, everyone got to have a piece after finishing their meal. (My other family members thought it was delicious, also.) We decided that the next time we go, we will order two pizzas and the price will be very economical. The sodas were priced about the same as DL, but you get a very large glass, with refills included in the price. The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was fun, also.
