I'm just happy to hear that the mountain is being repainted. It needs it badly.

"When is this six months scheduled to be?"

    First half of next year.

Imagineers decided that during this rehab, they'll add music to the Matterhorn. The speakers will be hidden in snow drifts, so soon it will be common to hear Matterhorn riders exclaim, "Hark! The Harold angels sing!"

(That was a long way to go for that, wasn't it? But FriendofDD would like it.)

Plus Harold already has the "advanced" technology of the Yeti in Expedition Everest - he just stands there and roars.

It seems like every time I've ridden in the last 3-4 years, they've had the lights in there on. Usually this wouldn't matter, since it's just backstage areas, but since the ceiling of the cave is only mesh, without any 'filler', we get an excellent view of the inside of the mountain.

For how well done the caves are throughout the rest of the mountain, it's always amazing to me how shoddy that part looks, especially since it's a pretty easy solution. It's so dark in there that they literally just need to put any generic ceiling on top of the mesh. That would make it darker (even with the interior lights on), but leave enough 'shape' from the wire mesh so that the lights from Harold's eyes still make it look like a cave. Simple solution to a problem that has bugged me for years.
