If your Mom is able to I'd suggest she try a day or so a week volunteering. I started a new career at 54, just as the economy was beginning to turn down, and it was discouraging enough to go through the interview process then - countless applications and not even the courtesy of a turn-down when you got the interview but not the job. I am sure she will appreciate your support. I will be sending positive thoughts to your mother. I am thrilled with my change and I hope it works out the same for her.

She has sent out a bunch of resumes and is considering contacting a placement agency. She is also trying to turn a hobby of sorts into a little extra cash--she has always made her own body oils and lotions and she is getting together with a friend to rent booths at some local fairs to sell some of them. She isn't ding it so much for the money, but more to get out and see and talk to people and just to feel positive about something. I am really proud of her for that because she is a little shy. Thanks again you guys for all of your good thoughts. Please keep them up...I am a big believer in the power of good thoughts and prayer, so I know you are helping her by sending them her way!
