Does Maynard still work at Disneyland? Or maybe at California Adventure?

He does like to talk. So, if you have to get somewhere quick, don't engage him in conversation.

First of all, online forums don't work this way. You can pick the subject, but people will contribute whatever they feel like contributing.

    >So if you don't like Maynard then that is just too bad!<

I don't hate or even dislike Maynard at all - in fact, I've never seen him. But I do have a problem with a CM who becomes more important than the attraction he's working. I've read many descriptions over the years of interactions with him, and it's always seemed to me that he needs to calm down a bit and do his job without becoming an attraction himself. That opinion might change if I ever do get the opportunity to talk to him, but from what I've read, that's my opinion.

Also, he is good on spieling attractions, provided he stays in role.

It was May 2006 and Mr. Alice's mom and I were heading up the stairs to the Main Street DLRR Station. He was working crowd control for an afternoon parade and was dressed in Jungle Cruise gear.

I just got such a kick out of bumping into him by chance like that. We talked for a few minutes and then he excused himself because the parade was doing its thing and he needed to be aware of the surroundings/people.

Maybe someday it'll be at the Haunted Mansion; I know that would be a hoot!

When a CM is the attraction, (as I was told in training myself) it's not Disneyland it's Maynardland or (insert cast member name)-land.. and that really does detract from 'good show' and I think that every cast member has an opportunity to make a good experience for the guest. It's not just about pushing your own agenda. Disney doesn't pay enough for that IMHO.

He also has several other projects he works on. Voice overs, commercials, to name a few.

The offstage Maynard is a very special person indeed. Very talented, a wonderful view of life, and a good dedicated friend.
