Originally Posted By dresswhites got a chance to go over to pirates lair, this past thursday. i liked it. they really didn't change it too tremendously, just added some new eye candy and interactive features. so the feel of the island and what makes it a unique attraction hasn't changed. you still climb through caves and climb a treehouse with a spetacular view and cross the rickety bridges. the only thing missing is the fort, which has been closed for several years now. i think they did a good job. and they haven't abonded the western aspects of the river, i think the new cabin with the horse is a nice scene. better than looking at the empty cabin of the last 8 or 9 years. Also i noticed that the beaver cutting down the tree is missing, but i saw 4 or 5 swimming around in that area. Are these new? have they always been there? do you know if the beaver cutting the tree and the bear scractching are coming back?

What's there now is LOOSELY tied to Tom/Huck and works (barely) with FL. Anymore would make the island look totally out of place. And like everyone says, the island is certainly taking people off the streets because the guest counts are like 5 times what they were for TSI at this time last summer.
