Do you read the ones on TripAdvisor? Sometimes a hotel (or someone hired by them) will post positive reviews about themselves, posing as guests. Be wary of reviews that read too much like an advertisement. biddingfortravel.com has information on using Priceline.

They have stayed there 3 times now and when she saw it was available for $54 plus tax on a weekend she jumped on it. They don't use the pool and like she said just use it to sleep, maybe for a rest in the afternoon and they might turn on the TV. Parking is free. This is a thumbs up motel from 2 in their early 20's with no kids and just want a place that is walkable. Try using Kayak. There was one rate of $47 but she chose to go with the Quality website as they may have to cancel a night and she wanted the flexibility of calling the hotel directly. Good Luck!!

We've already stayed there twice this year, and will be back in December.

DD has also stayed at Fairfield and HoJo's. Quality is a step down from those two according to her but they are perfectly happy with Quality and find the walk about the same as the rooms they had at HoJo's and Fairfield.

We recently got a deal for $46/night at the crowne plaza for sat thru tue in december, which I think is pretty cheap. I checked biddingfortravel afterwards though and it looked like someone got crown for even less at $39. Crowne is not walking distance, but it is clean and they do provide a shuttle. We've stayed there twice before and were very happy with it.
