St.Pat's Day at DLP

    It now appears my daughter and I will do our day at the parks on St.Patrick's Day. Can any of you, from past experience, tell us what we should expect? Will the parade(s) be different? What other extra celebrations will there be? I've heard that it will be a rare weekday (Friday) with a fireworks show -- but that the fireworks will be all green. True?

    Also, what should we expect for crowds? One of you has told me it'll be crowded, but still not as crowded as a weekend. Is St.Patrick's Day a school holiday in France? In Britain? Ireland? Anywhere else? Where will the abundance of extra visitors be from?

    There won't be anythng different in the parks, but Disney Village may have some special entertainment/food and beer to party too. That is what they have done in the past.

    A special pre-parade which will be led by MIckey and Minnie in traditionnal Irish costumes and a band of musicians.

    Special meet'n greet too,and at night, a special Fireworks will be held in honor of St Patrick.

    Plus all the Disney Village programms..

    This year St.Patricks day falls on a Friday, so it's going to be a long weekend back home. I'm guessing this could be one of the main reasons why they may making a bigger deal out of it. I was home over Christmas and in many travel agents windows there was some big advertising for the St.Pats weekend.

    There's a promo running on Irish TV at the moment. It's a tie-in with a grocery shop to win a St Pat's trip to DLRP. It's heavily branded Disney and show's Mickey dressed in Green and lot's of green fireworks behind the Chateau. Lovely! As far as I know we Irish are the only ones getting a day off on the 17th March.
