I'm going to be going to DL for a couple days in February. The problem is that I have to be returning to Las Vegas on a Friday. I know how bad the drive from California to Vegas can be on a Friday and was wondering if anybody with experience could help me.

How early, or late, should I leave on Friday to avoid the traffic?

And it stays busy until late Saturday night at that point. And there's a patch of construction about mid-way right now where everything slows down.

Take snacks and good music along for the ride... It's definitely bearable. :)

Personally, I find that a fine Single Malt Scotch makes the drive much more tolerable.

But these slow downs didn't really make the drive any longer than normal.

From all my experiences I would say that if you leave no later than noon you should have a clear sail all the way through =)
