I don't remember any more details, since the conversation was a while ago, but I believe the change was going to happen some time in the spring, likely during the slow season between Christmas and Spring Break. The last I heard about it was this past spring, so plans could have changed since then. I might be seeing the source tomorrow, so I'll see if I can bring it up then...

Space Mountain, Small World and the Castle have each been painted numerous times in the past 15-20 years. Splash Mountain received an exterior face lift a few years ago too. Meanwhile the iconic Matterhorn just sort of sits there looking a tad faded.

I'm with AvatarMickey on the Yeti update. They could update the 30+ year old Yeti fairly easily. Then again, if the new Yeti breaks, it might take them years to fix it.
