He is one of the best known directors, but I guess he must really like the topic. As for F1, I think it will become more popular in the US again. Last year the Grand Prix of Texas was well received by the audience.

I'm also a F1 fan. I like the tactics of the teams, for example what tyre they should use, how much fuel they should put into the car. And since Austria has its own F1 team, Red Bull Racing, it is even more interesting. I have to watch Rush just because Niki Lauda is still a national hero over here. And Daniel Brühl's performance must be fantastic.

Actually NASCAR is much the same in this regard, when and how many new tires, how much fuel, timing all pitstops and something related to pitting during a yellow called the "lucky dog". Others may have the scoop on that, I only watch out of the corner of my eye while doing other things. I like my race cars to go straight. I read up a little on Niki Lauda and I have to say I really admire his tenacity and the literal pains he was willing to endure to continue racing.
