This year, with the week between Veteran's day and Thanksgiving, and the first day of Christmas season being that Friday, we would have a great opportunity to be there for a day of the Christmas activities, but without the week having a holiday. We have planned a trip to DL for that week, and the kids seem excited about going. The problem is, my dd10 and I don't want to go to Disneyland again, dh and dd7 do. We just went for a couple days in June, plus we were there last November. I want to do something different. We can't afford to fly anywhere, and we live in CA, which is why Disneyland is usually our destination. We've done Tahoe in the summer and winter, Gold Country in the spring, the coast and Hearst Castle. But in late November, what else could we do, where we wouldn't want to fly?? I don't know what to do. I'm very stressed about this decision, and money worries are an added stress. I'm thinking maybe a couple day trips, or an overnight trip or two would be better. I'm hoping someone can make me feel better about going? Or any ideas for alternative plans would be helpful too.

I think I just want to take a break, but my dh really wants to go, and he works so hard. Ugh, I need a compromise, an affordable one!!

I had that place marked as a place we were interested in trying out ourselves - It looks nice.. And the Aquarium just got a new great white shark -- We rented a house last thanksgiving in Tahoe - it was really nice in the fall too - not hot but no snow either.. What about a few days in San Jose... Yes San Jose... Tech Museum, Childrens Museum, Christmas in the Park... Sharks game...

Originally Posted By DyGDisney 7.5 hrs!?? That's how long it takes us to get to DL, and we only live a little over an hour from you. We drive pretty close to the speed limit, and usually make a 5 minute stop or two, plus a good 20 minutes in Buttonwillow (gas+Starbucks+fast food sometimes). Last trip we made it there and back in 7 hours, but that's about our quickest.
