    (1) At the end of the ride, before the lift ramp to the cue area, the two pirates who struggle with the loot have been removed. These were the AAs from Epcot's World of Motion. It makes sense that this landing would be the location for the final of the new Jack Sparrow AA figures. (From sources, I've heard numbers between 3 and 5 new Jack Sparrows will be added.) I assume a Jack Sparrow figure will be placed on the final landing. Does anyone know how many, if any of these Jack Sparrows will be made especially for the rebhabed attraction. I've heard that at least one of the "new" Sparrows are going to be old AAs from the Spanish Main with new Sparrow costumes and faces.

    (2) As reported previously the parrot from the pre-show has gone missing. But the fiber optics are back on and working.

    (3) As is a miracle, the fog effects are back up and working for the Wicked Wench and Fort. We all know that the Wench will become the Black Pearl, so maybe the fog outtage has occurred because crews have been adding components to the Black Pearl / Wicked Witch. My guess: you'll see Barbossa here as well. So long "Fire at will." And so long to all the "Who's Will?" jokes.

    (4) Like another poster, I, too, noticed water dripping from the ceiling after the second drop, toward the beginning of the ride. From what I understand, either Davy Jones or Barbossa is to be projected on a curtain of water (just like the film effects in Fantasmic). Perhaps this is where that water curtain will be placed. The lighting in caverns before the Stowyer Weapons and the treasure room is much lower than usual as well. It is extremely DARK.

    (5) Also, the Pooped Pirate's dialogue is back on. For some reason this has been off everytime I've been on the attraction since Christmas. one visit every two weeks. Even my wife noticed (which is saying something.) I'm assuming that this sequence is being tinkered with as the location of improvements.

    (6) Someone on another board said that the Marc Davis' painting of the red haired pirate wench was removed. (It's in the Stowyer Weapons room.) At least as of yesterday, it's there. So if it was removed, it's back.

And this: one quick favor. if anyone has a really good video clip of the skeleton and crab, I'd love to get a copy of it. it was the one thing I forgot to film a close up of. I went through very late Friday night, in a boat by myself and captures much of the ride with a spotlight. Watching the footage at home I noticed things in the ride I've never seen before--such as the singing trio have very shallow mouths with a clear plastic barrier inside them, presumably to keep out spalshed water. Also I'd never realized that the costumer of most pirates are significantly colored up to comphensate for the red theatrical lights.

Also a question: the fort figures from World of Motion--how many of these Epcot figures were installed in the fort? Aside from the fort and the final landing, did Disneyland's POC inherit any other World of Motion AAs?

A link you probably have never seen:

As for your question #4, that's not where the mist curtain will go. That water dripping from the ceiling over the Crews Quarters has been a problem for about two years, since the last rehab. The ceiling in that section is actually the bottom of the lift where boats are chugging back up to the station. The lift is leaking water terribly, and it has worked it's way through the theatrical ceiling and rockwork in that area, and it's simply dripping down on the sets. It's been doing that for a long time, and Facilities says they can't fix it without ripping out the lift and doing major construction that would take at least 45 days, so it's just been put off for a couple years until the next big Pirates rehab. And that rehab is finally here.

The lift will be replaced anyway because they are installing a stairway into the lift itself to help with evacuations. Currently, guests stuck in boats on the lift have to sit there until the ride can be restarted. Those boats are always the last people to leave during a Pirates evac, and it's not uncommon for those guests to be stuck more than an hour. During an evac, the guests stuck in boats on the lift generally get comp tickets to come back, while everyone who got out before them just gets a Re-Ad pass for another ride.

The mist screen effect and new skeleton AA is going in the transition tunnel, a bit farther down the flume just before you sail out into the Battle Scene.

There is peeling rockwork and a lot of structural damage all over the ride if you know where to look. Water has not been kind to that facility in the long period since it's last major rehab.

In the Chase Room, where the first turntable was removed is a pirate trying to keep his food from a donkey and a goat. In the World of Motion, this figure was a French balloonist who had crash landed into a farmyard. He was trying to guard his picnic basket from farm animals.

That World of Motion figure now found in the chase scenario was actually seen near the beginning of WOM in a scene featuring various modes of animal transportation just prior to the invention of the wheel. Here he's trying to keep his basket of produce away from the ostrich he's riding as well as the camel behind him...

Any help here would be hot.

Also, thanks for the updates, and that link is way cool.

I guess it's all a moot point now, but I'm curious: until yesteday, what was the procedure if the ride e-stopped and there was actually a fire? What would they do with the people in the boats on the lift?

I was watching the Lost Disc (bonus materials)from the DVD today and they made a point of showing that being said both by the original pirate(on the ride) and Barbosa. I thought it was ironic too that there was this part where they show Johnny Depp say "maybe they will have to change the ride now" and then Orlando Bloom says "WHAT !?!!" and then Gore Verbinski says "just leave the ride alone" and Johnny Depp says "alright then". I am sure that they never really thought that it might happen at that point.
