    1. Do not swim in your cologne. Guys have an unfortunate tendency to wear way too much cologne. Be subtle. A few strategic dabs are more effective (and alluring) than a liberal splash. Most importantly, if you wear so much cologne that you can't smell your date's perfume...well, that's very, very bad.

    2. Dance, for crying out loud. It's amazing how many guys don't like to dance. Hey, it's okay. Plenty of us have no earthly business setting foot on a dance floor. But on this one night, none of that matters. It's all about having fun and celebrating. And we can just about guarantee you that if your date spends the entire night dancing alone, that's exactly how you'll be spending the rest of yours.

    3. Designate a driver. We would never assume or even imply that anyone under the age of 21 would ever do anything that might make operating a motor vehicle less than 100% safe. But you know yourself and your friends best. If there's a chance that safe driving might become an issue, make sure you've addressed it in advance. Better yet, take cabs. If you have a big group, chip in and rent a limo. It's something you'll always remember.

    4. Have a plan. If you're going to dinner beforehand, make a reservation. If you're going out afterward, have a destination in mind. If your date says, "So what are we going to do tonight," and your answer is, "I dunno, what do you wanna do?"...well, that's very, very bad.

    5. Wrist corsages are better. We're giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that you knew a corsage was virtually a required gift for your date. What you may not have known is that wrist corsages are easier to wear than pin-on ones (not to mention, less dangerous). Wrist corsages also make is easier to get up close and personal on the dance floor and are less likely to damage the dress she spent nine months picking out.

    6. Mark the occasion. Rent a tuxedo. Get a hair cut. Trim your finger nails. Hey, it's prom night! Dress accordingly.

    Hope it helps.

That list there is fantastic. You should send it to the High School newspapers in your area.

I cannot take credit for it. Its from the Mens Wearhouse website. They have a whole fashion, dress to impress section. Lots of tips like this. Also a great section on shoes and shoe care. Stuff I already knew about shoes but great that I am not the only weirdo.
