I've seen two -- Fantasia 2000 and Beauty and the Beast -- and I can remember how difficult it was to take in everything visually. I can't imagine what it was like to see Batman Begins on IMAX with all the quick-cut fight sequences. I never got motion sickness -- ever -- until I saw The Perfect Storm and had to sit in the second row. This was in a "regular" theatre. And now here is a movie with oceans and waves and ships bobbing up and down...on an IMAX screen. Ooh, I don't think so... So...nay for me.

Personally I don't find it worth the extra $4 or so they charge, for most movies. For something like The Polar Express in 3D, it was worth every penny however.

Like looking through a window. (Standard is 24)

For me, IMAX really ramps up the theater experience for me - it's that much bigger and the sound is that much better.

But I do understand what you're saying - and I noticed it more with poseidon than with other films. It was hard to watch, and the problems with the movie were only accentuated - the shaky image of the constantly moving camera means it's harder to follow what you're trying to watch - usually someone's face. And quick edits often mean that you cannot register what the image is before it's switched to something else. I've also seen some other terrible movies - 'the core' (ridiculous film about going to the center of the earth) and 'k-19 widowmaker' (russian sub w/harrison ford). But if I really like the movie, I feel that the whole experience is enhanced. Polar express was one of the best, but I also loved 'batman returns', and more recently 'v for vendetta'. So my experience is that good movies are made better, and bad movies are made worse. Animated movies that I've seen(fantasia 2k, treasure planet, shrek2) seemed easier because the image is simplified. I'll be there next month for the new 'superman'.
