    What's the problem?

I bought their park tickets already. Pricing for 10 and up is higher than for 9 and under.

Will this cause a problem for them at the park??

Worst case they will be able to upgrade the passports to the adult price. They probably won't be asked, but if they are it's not a big deal to fix the passports.

I was horrified-I guess I had visions of his being hauled off to little kid jail when his parents tried to pass him off as his TRUE age!

So, I told him, "no, you are 2", now how old are you? "SIX!". This went on over and over.

For some reason the number SIX was sooo much more fun to say than TWO! :0)

But, no one stopped us and no one said anything to us-though I did pray HARD as we got near the gates!

It's the ones who almost need a shave or the ones whose parents walk up and preemptively say, "He's only two - really, he turns three next week. He's just huge for his age. And he speaks in full and complete sentences because he's WAY advanced." And when asked their birthdate the parents reply, "Um...um...2002?" and then proceed to have an argument with each other about when their child was born. Parents remember the date their child was born. :) It's generally not a problem, and when it is it's abundantly clear.

For what it's worth my niece used to pretend that she was a puppy. Walked on all fours, barked, whined, the whole 9. So when we went to Disneyland my sister finally had to tell her that they didn't allow pet dogs into the Park. She walked upright, at least that day! She's a sharp cookie so I'm surprised she didn't insist that she was a service dog so she'd be allowed to enter the Park as a canine!

I am fairly certain that they would let you do this.

The Resort would definitely let you upgrade if you asked. The difference is the same as the age between not needing a passport at all and needing one at age 3. Once our son turned three, that was it. He got a Zoo pass, and we started counting him on our Silver Pass. I really don't think anyone will ask, and you will probably be fine. But if your conscience is telling you that it's not the right thing for you, then just ask when you get there and you can upgrade to the adult passport.

At the very least they can recall their child's birthdate without having to "do the math."

THis really isn't a case of trying to "cheat the system". At the end of the day, we all know a trip to DL isn't cheap and since this is my niece and nephew's first visit, I intend to spoil the hell out of 'em with treats and souvineers. ;) My problem is that I feel the tickets were bought in good faith - I didn't even think about how old they'd be by the time we got to the park. So as far as I'm concerned, at the time of purchase the tickets were correct.

My only issue is that I don't want this to be any kind of ordeal. I don't want them to miss one extra minute of time in the park because of any problem that might ensue.

I just can't imagine DL asking us to "prove" their age.

And sure, you didn't think how old they'd be when you bought the tickets and bought them in good faith. But you know now.

So, if you want to make sure it's not an issue, upgrade the tickets. Then you know it won't be an issue.

Which is why I say it's not an issue, as others have run into the same "problem" as you. You purchased the media when they were still kids, so Disney will grant you some leeway there. If you chose to upgrade them to "adult" status, that is up to you.
