I'm looking for a new non-Disney vacation destination. We always do at least one Disney vacation a year and one non-Disney vacation.

Places we've been and really enjoyed are (in no particular order):

    Disneyland
    Walt Disney World
    Chicago
    Washington DC
    Branson
    Redwoods National Park (CA)
    Las Vegas
    Duluth (MN)

We like vacations where there is a lot to see and do. A week spent lying around on a beach or by the pool sounds worse than going to work. I need ACTIVITY!

Any thoughts on what a great new place would be?

San Francisco, with Fisherman's Wharf, Chinatown, North Beach, Alcatraz, Cable Cars, Lombard "the world's crookedest" Street, Nearby Muir Woods and Napa Valley... you won't lack for things to see and do.

Except for our trip to D.C., we've never vacationed out east. Do you think a person could reasonably drive from Minnesota to Williamsburg, and then head north to catch Boston and Quebec and return home on a two week vacation without being too rushed?

    LOL

Even though I'm 'RoadTrip' we do fly frequently because of time limitations. Australia sounds very interesting, but isn't flying there EXTREMELY expensive?

It's well worth the trip though as Australia is such a beautiful country.

I would like to tour New England, Maine & Vermont it always looks so pretty in the movies, so that's my vote for you! :)

I think they would. A more linear trip might be better, and there's some nice amusement parks in Pennsylvannia and Ohio.

Frankly, we went to Montreal once, and I wasn't that impressed.
