Wait, what? No CD? Nothing but a download?

Yeah, like I'm going to pay good money for something that'll be glitched and gone when my computer goes kaput.

I'm not a member of the download generation; the music I like today, I like tomorrow, and I want a real, genuine permanent copy.

Not home-made. Not virtual. Gimme the real deal.

Something about this reminds me of the mad stampede to cassettes in the early 80s. Convenience over quality. So how'd those cassettes work out for ya?

I'm not thrilled with this situation, but I think it is an early case of the direction that will soon become pretty standard for most lower-demand music releases (and, eventually, for everything). I do hope that they will at least move to lossless releases soon, particularly since the bandwidth issues are becoming much less of a concern.

While I'd rather have CD or at least lossless releases, I don't feel strongly enough that I would want to do without two of the best score releases of last year.

BTW, watched the movie last night, and the soundtrack rules!

They also did a no-frills almost-no-artwork version for award season voters. Slightly different contents.

    By the way ...

Nope, they can't get you an Up CD, but the Annie Awards are happening next year too.

    Just sayin'. ;-)
