I too am disappointed in the extension of this "celebration." Honestly, I don't think that most of the park guests even know what the year of a million dreams is all about or even know that there is a "dream squad." I'd be curious to take a poll in the park of some randomly selected guests to see if this promotion really mattered to them in making a decision to visit the park (I don't think so). The giveaways of dream fastpasses and nights in Cinderella castle should be things that Disney should continue just because Disney can do it. Why can't it just be a WDW tradition to give out some of these things every so often just as part of normal operations (but perhaps on a reduced scale)?

Huge thumbs down from me. Show me a black, hispanic or even gay household who has been awarded a night's stay in the Castle's suite, and I will show you a real dream come true.

I don't have to. I see who they are before the 3pm parade at the MK, since they come down the parade route as a preshow.

I am not TDLFAN ... but I DO think that WDW handpicks its families for special media ops and such.

You damn well knew the family that kicked off the celebration by getting the MK to themselves was going to be All-American MidWesterners ... they weren't going to have an overweight 37-year-old African-American single grandmother and her extended brood with multiple piercings.

Is that discrimination? Or Disney trying to portray a certain image? Are they the same? Is it wrong?

While I may not be the sharpest tack on the board, even I know this would be a major faux pas on Disney's part.
Disney's base seems to be the very white American family of four, so you definetly don't think the odds were in their favor to win? Do you think the odds were stacked in their favor to win?
