Based on the comment from Iger that "The three Anaheim hotels are booking rooms substantially ahead of Walt Disney World's pace", I'm thinking that this is for the long haul. DLR attendance will always ebb and flow, but it looks like the place has finally hit a benchmark with DCA being as equally strong of a draw as Disneyland. I'm very curious to see what will happen once the AP blackouts are lifted in the next month or so.

But, don't get me wrong, if anyone wants to send me free of charge, I'll still go.

At the end of the month, I'll be there for two of three days on Southern Cal non-block-outs, but Southern Cal Selects are still blocked. I'm hoping enough people on are So. Cal Selects that it won't be horrible, but I'm planning on it being packed.

Interesting comment, but my understanding is that it has been that way for many years, simply due to the number of rooms available. I read statistics 3-4 years ago that said the WDW hotels averaged about 80% occupancy (50-60% is break-even for most hotels in the US) and the DLR hotels are over 90%. While it's true that the hotels at DLR book very well, I don't think it's really a direct correlation from the DCA reboot.

And that they're trying to charge over $400/night for the family suites, which are basically large Motel 6 rooms with characters plastered on the walls.

They should be aware of what Universal is building; they should be flipping out about their own offerings.

I wonder if Orlando is just over saturated with hotels. I mean how many rooms do you have to build before you have a glut of them? Is there really that much demand?
