The players are fairly cheap now, and the prices on the discs has come down. All the studios seem to be doing this as well, not just Disney.

The thing about Blu-ray though, is that it requires restoration. You can't just throw any old movie on a disc, it has to be mastered in HD. So, the lesser catalog titles have to wait a LONG time to appear, because of the cost of restoring it.

I have Mary Poppins and Fantasia on VHS and DVD. I am not buying them on Blu-Ray. Also, how many more special features can you have on a 40 year old movie?

Add me to the list of those NOT going the Blu-Ray route. If they would play in my PC, I would consider Blu-Ray for new purchases, but still would not "upgrade."

The differences between DVD & Blu-Ray are a perfect example of the law of diminishing returns, IMHO. At least, that's the view of a layman; a tech-head might feel differently. More power to 'im.

If I don't get it for Christmas, it's off to wal-Mart for me!
