You can google for all kinds of information to help her understand what is going on and why the meds are important. She may not need to cut out that tiny amount of fat after all

I'd love to have my cholesterol levels tested again, just out of curiosity. I've changed my diet to include much more fat and animal products over the last few years. I've lost some weight and feel better; it'd be interesting to see if it had any affect at all on my cholesterol levels.

With many trial and error courses of meds, I am in normal range. But my good choloesterol is still too low and doc says exercise is about the only thing that will improve that. Guess I better get walking!!!
