For some reason this just took me back to the pre-DCA opening hype and how there was worry people would have to be shunted over to the booby-prize DL because DCA would be regularly full. Now this made me wonder, just how many APers here will actually pay the full day price and go to DCA for WoC? Or is this hyperbole again? Will DCA FINALLY be a place people actually pay money for without buying an AP or using a two-fer? Has our ugly little redhead FINALLY grown up into a beautiful swan?

Once the Little Mermaid and Cars Land is open, then I'll say it can completely stand on its own.

Hmm.. maybe, if I hadn't been before or they add something new. Would I buy a one day ticket for Epcot? If I didn't own an AP, probably. Would I buy a blackout ticket? Ha, no. Those are a complete ripoff. Just get the higher AP and stop paying extortionate rates for parking too.

I'm not so tied to DL that I can't visit DCA and enjoy the place independent of DL. To each his own I guess. In regard to the original question I suppose that IF this story is true Disney would simply be taking precautions because if they don't plan for a significant rush on the parks all hell would break loose online and in the news media about how Disney "should have known better" and how they "should have planned for the worst". More to the point, I think that there will be some die-hards who will pay full price. I suspect though that most pass holders are so unaccustomed to paying at the gate to get into either park at the posted price that it will be like pulling teeth for them to shell out the 75 bucks it costs to walk through the turnstiles.

When Epcot has its nightly Illuminations exodus Mousegear is the only thing still open - and strangely enough due to its size it works.

Maybe I'm missing something, but for me this whole thing sounds like it's going to be more trouble than it's worth.

If they have AP's, wouldn't they just pay the blackout fee to attend on a blackout day, which is what - 40 bucks?
